RIYADH: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority handled 69,784 emergency cases across Makkah and Madinah during the Ramadan Umrah season.
This was achieved through an integrated system developed in collaboration with health authorities and charitable organisations across the private and non-profit sectors, improving the efficiency of emergency response and the delivery of advanced ambulance services to pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The authority praised the contributions of participating health entities, noting that this coordination enhanced field preparedness and enabled faster response times in managing cases within the holy sites and surrounding central areas.
It also highlighted the crucial role played by medical, ambulance, and volunteer teams, who operated with high efficiency throughout the season, ensuring the uninterrupted provision of emergency services.
