LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has released its official anthem, ‘Khelenge Beat Pe’, as the countdown begins for the upcoming season. The launch marks a new chapter for the ten-year-old tournament, which is set to feature its biggest edition yet.

The 11th season of the PSL is scheduled to take the field from March 26 to May 3. The tournament will kick off with the defending champions, Lahore Qalandars, facing off against the league’s newest franchise, the Hyderabad Kingsmen.

A soundtrack for a growing legacy

The anthem arrives at a significant turning point for the league, which is expanding to feature eight teams for the first time in its history. Beyond the on-field expansion, ‘Khelenge Beat Pe’ serves as a musical chronicle of the PSL’s decade-long journey, capturing how the tournament has evolved from a cricketing event into a cultural touchstone for a generation of fans across Pakistan.

The track is designed as a tribute to the nation’s deep-rooted passion for cricket, celebrating a sport that remains a unifying force for millions. Since its inception in 2016, the PSL has established itself as an annual celebration, blending world-class athleticism with entertainment.

A fusion of musical heavyweights

Leading the vocal lineup for this year’s anthem is Pakistani music icon Atif Aslam. This marks Aslam’s second stint with the PSL, following his performance on the 2022 anthem ‘Agay Dekh’.

He is joined by the trailblazing Sabri Sisters, Anam and Saman, who bring a unique dynamic to the track, alongside acclaimed singer Aima Baig and rising rap sensation Daniya Kanwal. Baig is no stranger to the PSL’s musical legacy; this season marks her fourth appearance in the league’s anthems, having previously contributed to ‘Groove Mera’ (2021), the 2022 anthem, and ‘Khul Ke Khel’ (2024).

League leadership reflects on evolution

PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer emphasised that the anthem embodies the league’s trajectory as a premier global T20 competition. He noted that as the tournament has grown in competitiveness and viewership, the theme for this year was crafted to reflect both its achievements and its ambitions.

“The PSL has always stood for world-class cricket, unforgettable entertainment and the incredible passion of our fans,” Naseer said in a statement. “As we step into Season 11, this anthem represents the evolution of the league and the exciting journey ahead. It reflects where the PSL stands today: confident, dynamic and ready to inspire a whole new generation of players and fans.”
