DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates has condemned the second attack on its consulate in the Iraqi Kurdistan region in less than seven days.
In an official statement on Saturday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack on its consulate caused injuries and property damage. “Two security personnel were injured, and the consulate building sustained damage,” the Ministry confirmed.
The Ministry described the assault as a serious violation of international law, calling it a “blatant breach of international norms.” It further warned that such acts constitute a dangerous escalation and pose a threat to regional security and stability.

Reaffirming its commitment to the protection of diplomatic facilities, the UAE urged the Iraqi government to conduct a thorough investigation and hold the perpetrators accountable.
The statement reiterated the nation’s firm stance against all forms of terrorism and emphasised the importance of safeguarding diplomatic missions and personnel in accordance with international conventions.
UAE detects 9 ballistic missiles, 33 drones
Earlier the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence announced that its air defence systems intercepted nine ballistic missiles and 33 drones on March 14.

According to the ministry, since the conflict began, the United Arab Emirates has detected and responded to a total of 294 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and around 1,600 drones targeting the country.
