ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s armed forces have carried out precision airstrikes inside Afghanistan under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, destroying a major ammunition depot in Kabul used by terrorist groups to support attacks against Pakistan, according to security sources.

“The strikes targeted an ammunition storage facility linked to the Afghan Taliban’s 313 Corps, which was being used to store weapons and explosives later supplied to terrorist organisations operating in the region,” officials said.

Security sources stated that the depot had been used by terrorist groups, including factions hostile to Pakistan, to obtain arms and ammunition for attacks across the border.

According to officials, the strikes were conducted with high precision, targeting only the ammunition storage facility.

The destruction of the depot triggered powerful explosions as stored weapons and explosives detonated.

Security authorities also released video footage of the operation, which shows the Pakistani military hitting only the ammunition dump.

Officials said the footage contradicts claims circulated by Afghan and Indian media alleging that Pakistani forces targeted civilian areas during the strikes.

“The video demonstrates that the operation was directed solely at terrorist infrastructure,” a security source said, stressing that the objective was to eutralize facilities being used to support attacks against Pakistan.

Islamabad has repeatedly raised concerns about terrorist groups allegedly operating from Afghan territory, saying such networks have carried out deadly attacks inside Pakistan.

Officials said the airstrikes form part of broader counter-terrorism measures aimed at dismantling cross-border terrorist infrastructure threatening Pakistan’s security.

Security sources added that operations under Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq will continue until strategic objectives are achieved, signalling that further actions may be taken against terrorist targets believed to be involved in attacks on Pakistan.
