LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistan completed a dominant clean sweep over Australia with a crushing 111-run victory in the third and final Twenty20 international on Sunday, as spinner Mohammad Nawaz claimed five wickets to skittle the visitors for 96 in Lahore.
Set a daunting target of 208, Australia collapsed to 96 all out in 16.5 overs at the Gaddafi Stadium, undone by disciplined bowling led by Nawaz, who returned career-best figures of 5 for 18.

The result sealed a 3–0 series win for Pakistan and provided a major confidence boost for both sides ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

Nawaz leads bowling rout
Australia never recovered after losing captain Mitchell Marsh early, bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi in the opening overs.
Regular wickets followed as the visitors struggled against Pakistan’s pace and spin on a responsive surface.
Marcus Stoinis top-scored for Australia with 23 from 22 balls, while Cameron Green made 22 off 24 deliveries.
Wicketkeeper Josh Philippe added 14. No other batter reached double figures.
Nawaz tore through the middle order, while Afridi took two wickets. Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah claimed one each.
Adam Zampa did not bat after being ruled out with a groin injury.

Pakistan post imposing total
Earlier, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha’s decision to bat first paid off as the hosts posted 207 for 6, their highest total of the series.
Pakistan made a shaky start when opener Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for 10 in the second over.
Agha followed soon after for five, leaving the hosts 34 for 2 in 3.4 overs.
The innings was rebuilt by Babar Azam and Saim Ayub, who added 69 runs for the third wicket to shift momentum.
Ayub top-scored with a fluent 56 off 37 balls, striking six fours and two sixes, before falling to Matthew Kuhnemann after a sharp catch by Matt Renshaw near the boundary.
Late surge seals the contest
Babar then found brief support from Khawaja Nafay, who struck a quick 21 off 12 balls, before Shadab Khan provided the decisive late surge.
Shadab smashed 46 off just 19 deliveries, including five sixes, in a 57-run partnership with Babar, who anchored the innings and remained unbeaten on 50 from 36 balls.
For Australia, Ben Dwarshuis was the most effective bowler with 2 for 39, while Kuhnemann, Cameron Green, Cooper Connolly and Matthew Short took one wicket each.
Pakistan won the series 3–0 after victories in the opening two matches and will take confidence from a comprehensive all-round performance against a full-strength Australian side.
