RIYADH: Saudi Arabia Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef has held meetings with ministers of Sudan, Mauritania, and Argentina to explore cooperation in the mining sector.

The meetings aiming to develop mutual investments were held on the sidelines of the fifth Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh, which drew participation from over 100 countries, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.

During his meeting with the Sudanese Minister of Minerals Nuraddayim Taha, both sides reaffirmed strong bilateral ties and explored opportunities for collaboration in mineral exploration and resource management.

A similar emphasis on advancing cooperation and joint investments was highlighted in Alkhorayef’s meeting with Mauritanian Minister of Mines and Industry Thiam Tidjani. The discussions underscored a shared commitment to strengthening the mining sector through strategic partnerships and resource development.

Alkhorayef also met with Argentina’s Secretary of Mining Luis Lucero to stress the importance of global dialogue on future mineral supplies and industry challenges. The discussions focused on potential collaboration in mineral extraction, processing, and geological surveying.

Speaking at the opening of the fifth edition of the forum, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef said the new plan is designed to reduce investment risk and accelerate project development across the sector.

The minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to international collaboration in building what he described as a resilient, responsible and future-ready global mining ecosystem.
