TURBAT, Pakistan: Family members of slain Rahmadil Fazal said on Wednesday that he was a hardworking labourer and a driver of a light pickup truck called Zamyad, “with no links to any organisation or involvement in any unlawful activity.”
Addressing a press conference here, they said the allegations levelled against him after his killing were entirely false and fabricated. The family stated that branding any individual as an “informant” or “agent” and killing him cannot be described as resistance or struggle. “This is nothing but open terrorism and the genocide of the Baloch people,” they said.
They added that the killing of innocent, poor, and working-class youth does not legitimise any cause. Instead, it spreads fear, chaos, and hatred within society.
The family said that if anybody had any doubts about the activities of Fazal, they should have been informed and given a chance to clarify matters rather than resorting to killing him. “Such a killing is not only a criminal act, but it also leaves a poor family completely destitute,” they said.
The family demanded that the state ensure a transparent probe and swift justice in the killing of Rahmadil Fazal, and those involved in these terrorist acts be given the strictest possible punishment.
“Innocent blood must not be allowed to go to waste,” they added.
Reports indicate that Fazal was abducted, tortured, and killed by Indian-backed terrorists.
