ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces killed 12 Indian-sponsored terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Kalat district on December 6, the military’s media wing said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the Kalat operation marked one of the most significant single-day counterterrorism successes reported from the province this year.

Security forces launched the raid on credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy Fitna al Hindustan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. According to the ISPR, the targeted terrorist group is linked to foreign-backed terrorism in Balochistan and other parts of the country.WhatsApp Image 2025 12 07 at 12.06.14 PMAccording to the ISPR, troops engaged the terrorists’ hideout with precision fire, triggering an intense exchange that ended with 12 terrorists being, in the military’s words, “sent to hell”. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the location. The ISPR said the cell had been involved in multiple attacks targeting security forces and civilians in the region.

The latest operation pushes the total number of terrorists killed in Balochistan during 2025 to 603, according to official data shared with the media.

The statement added that sanitisation operations were underway in and around Kalat to trace any remaining terrorists linked to the network, part of the nationwide effort under the Azm e Istehkam counterterrorism framework approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

This week’s action follows several operations in other parts of the country. On December 5, security forces killed five Indian-sponsored terrorists belonging to the same proxy in an intelligence-based operation in Dera Bugti, according to ISPR. Separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa neutralised nine terrorists tied to Fitna al Khwarij, the state term for the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan group.

The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations at full pace to dismantle all foreign-sponsored and supported terrorist networks operating on Pakistani soil.
