Raipur, India: In a thrilling display of chasing prowess, South Africa has broken multiple records with their stunning chase of 362/6 against India in the second ODI at Raipur on Wednesday, marking their highest successful run chase away from home and solidifying their place among the greats in ODI history.

Record-Breaking Chase

South Africa’s chase of 362/6 in Raipur has now become the joint sixth-highest successful run chase in the history of One Day Internationals (ODIs), a remarkable feat considering they were already holders of the record for the highest chase, 438 runs, which they famously achieved against Australia in Johannesburg in 2006.

This new chase surpasses their previous highest successful chase away from home, which was 328 runs against Australia in Harare in 2014.

South Africa’s Top 10 ODI Chases

The chase in Raipur also places South Africa in the joint third spot for the highest successful ODI run chases outside of home conditions, alongside Australia’s 359-run chase in Mohali in 2019.

The only two higher chases are the Netherlands’ 370 runs in Dundee in 2025 and England’s 361 runs in Bridgetown in 2019.

With the chase of 362/6, South Africa has equalled India’s highest successful run chase in ODI history, the 362/1 India completed against Australia in Jaipur in 2013, showcasing the power of modern-day run chases.
