RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has concluded a specialised training programme on national security for the members of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

During the five-day programme, the 21 participants from 10 member countries received the training.

The initiative is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s capacity-building initiatives for candidates from coalition members across various areas of counterterrorism, including ideology, communications, countering terrorism financing, and the military domain.

The closing ceremony highlighted the programme’s key themes and achievements, focusing on the development of knowledge and practical skills related to national security, its core characteristics, and strategies for its attainment, along with its positive role in promoting stability and development.

The programme also explored contemporary challenges to national security, including areas such as cybersecurity and ideological security.

Advisor to IMCTC, Maj. Gen. Majed bin Taleb, presented certificates to the trainees, commending their high level of performance and active engagement throughout the programme.

He wished them success in applying the knowledge and skills they acquired to serve their countries and strengthen national security across the coalition’s member states.

The national security programme is one of 46 training programmes offered by the Kingdom in support of the coalition’s initiatives.

It aims to develop, qualify, and empower national talents and competencies in member countries, contributing to the achievement of shared goals and to the enhancement of regional and international security and stability.
