ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the European Union have agreed to advance implementation of the Pakistan-EU Talent Partnership Roadmap and deepen cooperation on legal migration and mobility.
The understanding was reached during the third session of the Pakistan-EU Migration Mobility Dialogue, held on Thursday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.
The talks were co-chaired by Director General (Europe) Irfan Ahmed from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Director General Johannes Luchner from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in a statement.
The two sides reviewed outcomes from the 16th Pakistan-EU Joint Readmission Committee and the third Pakistan-EU Talent Partnership Roundtable held earlier this week.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made in labour mobility and migration management, reaffirming their commitment to the EU Readmission Agreement (EURA) and implementation of the Talent Partnership Roadmap for mutual benefit.
The next session of the Migration Mobility Dialogue will take place in Brussels.
