RAMALLAH, Palestine: The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has welcomed the joint statement issued by the co-chairs of the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held yesterday in New York.

The ministry praised the pivotal roles played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of France in mobilising broad international support for the UN-backed New York Declaration, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

It also commended their continued commitment to advancing efforts toward the declaration’s implementation at all stages.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry expressed its deep appreciation to all participating countries for their supportive stances toward the Palestinian people. It reaffirmed its commitment to international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, emphasising the importance of upholding international legitimacy.

The ministry also thanked the states that endorsed the New York Declaration and those that recognised the State of Palestine, calling on all countries to urgently sign and adopt the declaration to help secure an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to ensure the full implementation of the provisions outlined in both the declaration and the joint statement.
