ABU DHABI: Pakistan’s cricket team arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday ahead of their must-win Asia Cup Super Four match against Sri Lanka, scheduled for Tuesday at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.

The Green Shirts arrived in Abu Dhabi Monday evening after wrapping up the initial leg of their campaign in Dubai, which included their first four matches, most recently a hard-fought Super Four opener against arch-rivals India.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed via social media that the squad checked into their team hotel upon arrival and will observe a full rest day today, with no training sessions scheduled. The high-pressure encounter against Sri Lanka is slated to begin at 6:30 PM local time.

Must-Win Match for Final Spot

Tuesday’s match carries immense significance for both teams, with each side looking to recover from opening-round defeats in the Super Four stage.

Pakistan went down to India by six wickets in a high-voltage clash on Sunday, while Sri Lanka suffered a narrow four-wicket loss to Bangladesh the day before.

With the tournament now in its decisive phase, both Pakistan and Sri Lanka are yet to open their accounts in the Super Four standings.

However, Sri Lanka sit third due to a slightly better net run rate, leaving Pakistan at the bottom. The outcome of this match could play a major role in shaping the road to the final.

India currently top the table owing to a superior net run rate over Bangladesh, with both teams holding two points from one win each.
