- Pakistan’s Educast partners with Oman’s Health 24 Hakkim
- Telemedicine for Omani patients in Pakistan
- Initiative offers affordable treatment
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s digital health network Educast joined hands with Oman’s Health 24 Hakkim to create a new medical tourism platform, aiming to make quality treatment in Pakistan accessible for Omani patients at affordable costs.
The agreement, signed in Muscat during a visit by a delegation of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), is expected to strengthen both health and business ties between the two countries, reports Arab News.
Medical tourism
Medical tourism refers to the practice of travelling abroad to receive medical treatment, often because it is more affordable or of higher quality than at home. Under this partnership, Omani patients will be able to seek treatment in Pakistan while also having the option to explore its cultural and natural attractions.
At the heart of the initiative is telemedicine—the use of digital platforms to consult doctors and monitor patients remotely across borders. Educast will manage patients referred by Health 24 Hakkim, providing what the two firms describe as a “seamless cross-border experience.”
New business opportunity
Educast CEO Abdullah Butt highlighted the company’s track record in fragile environments, saying it had “successfully managed over 150,000 COVID-19 patients during home isolation monitoring” through similar systems. Health 24 Hakkim Director Ahmed Subhani, meanwhile, called the deal a new business opportunity for Pakistan’s health sector, one that could attract not only Omani nationals but also expatriates living in the Gulf.
Specialised medical services
According to Arab News, FPCCI Senior Vice President Mian Saqib Fayyaz Magon described the collaboration as a “groundbreaking medical tourism platform.” At the same time, Pakistan Oman Business Council Chairman Sheikh Nadeem Magon said it would help diversify and deepen trade links between the two nations.
The venture reflects Pakistan’s growing interest in positioning itself as a destination for healthcare, combining competitive pricing, specialised medical services, and cross-border technology to serve regional patients.
