ISLAMABAD: A 5.2 magnitude earthquake jolted Islamabad, Rawalpindi and several cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday amid devastating floods in Pakistan’s north-western province.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, tremors were felt in Abbottabad, Mansehra, Mingora, Chitral, Swat and surrounding districts, forcing people to evacuate their houses, offices and other buildings out of fear.
The epicentre of the earthquake was the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, while it took place at a depth of 190 kilometres.
No damage reported
No damages have been reported so far following the earthquake, while authorities have urged public to stay vigilant.
The recent earthquakes are part of a series of tremors to hit northern Pakistan in recent months, most of them linked to the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan.
