ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s support and reaffirmed Iran’s resolve to improve bilateral collaboration in various areas of shared interest.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and President Pezeshkian met in Islamabad on Sunday.
Welcoming the Iranian President, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s “deep commitment to its historic and brotherly ties with Iran, emphasising their strong foundations in shared history, common cultural heritage, faith, and mutual respect.”
Bilateral collaboration
According to a statement, both sides pledged to improve bilateral collaboration in various areas of shared interest.
Ishq Dar also looked forward to meaningful discussions with Pakistani leaders to further reinforce the political and economic ties between the two friendly nations.
Shehbaz receives Pezeshkian
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday received President Masoud Pezeshkian at the PM House.
The Iranian President was given a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
National anthems of both countries were played. Later, he was introduced to members of the federal cabinet.
According APP, the prime minister also met with the members of the Iranian delegation.
President Dr Pezeshkian also planted a sapling in the lawn of the PM House.
The two leaders will hold delegation-level talks to explore ways to boost bilateral ties.
