ISLAMABAD: The federal government has directed the concerned departments, including the Aviation Division and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), to establish separate immigration counters for foreign travellers at all international airports across the country.
The decision was taken on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and is aimed at promoting tourism in Pakistan, ensuring the continuity of trade activities, and further facilitating foreign investment into Pakistan.
Faster immigration
A statement from the PM Office on Saturday says the establishment of these counters will reduce immigration processing time at airports in Pakistan.
With the separation of counters, returning Pakistani citizens will also benefit by being able to complete immigration procedures in less time.
This move is part of the government’s strategy to make Pakistan more attractive and welcoming for international tourists, investors, and business delegations.
