JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet has reaffirmed its support to the Syrian government in rebuilding the country and ensuring its security, stability, unity, and sovereignty.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held on Tuesday in Jeddah, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

At the outset of the session, the Cabinet was briefed about a phone call received by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman from Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

During the call, the Kingdom’s consistent and supportive positions toward Syria and its brotherly people were underscored, and the blatant Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and interference in its internal affairs were condemned.

The Cabinet backed the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and several other countries regarding developments in Syria and their collective efforts to support the Syrian government in rebuilding the country and ensuring its security, stability, unity, and sovereignty.

Following the meeting, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary told the SPA that the Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts for the Syrian people.

He said these initiatives, led by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), highlight Saudi Arabia’s sustained commitment to supporting Arab and Islamic nations, as well as its prominent global role in aiding vulnerable and affected communities.

War in Gaza

The Cabinet welcomed the statement issued by international partners urging an end to the war in the Gaza Strip, the removal of all barriers to humanitarian aid, and the safe delivery of assistance to the affected population.

It also reaffirmed the Kingdom’s call for the international community to take urgent and concrete actions to address Israeli intransigence, which continues to prolong the crisis and hinder efforts toward regional and global peace.

The Cabinet also welcomed the signing of a declaration of principles between the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Congo River Alliance, expressing hope that the agreement would serve as a positive step toward improving humanitarian and economic conditions, ultimately contributing to international peace and security.

The Cabinet hailed the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding to establish an integrated system for exporting renewable energy and green hydrogen from Saudi Arabia to Europe.

The Cabinet praised the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme for its accomplishments, having provided care for 150 twins from 27 countries and successfully performed 65 separation surgeries.
