ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on Vice Admiral Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Ghuraibi, Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces.
The President presented the award during a special ceremony held in Islamabad on Monday.
The event was attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Pakistan’s Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and other senior military and government officials.
The award underscores the longstanding and robust military relationship between the two countries, especially in the maritime sector.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share strong military and historical bonds, especially in the defence and maritime sectors. Over the years, both nations have carried out joint exercises, training programmes, and high-level visits to boost coordination.
