ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled a comprehensive women’s cricket schedule for the 2025–26 season, featuring a mix of international series, domestic tournaments, and development pathways for emerging talent.

The season will begin with the National Women’s U19 T20 Tournament, set to take place in Karachi from 15 September to 6 October. Standout performers will attend a three-week skills development camp, followed by a pre-departure training camp ahead of the Pakistan U19 team’s tour of Bangladesh in December, where they will play five T20 matches.

On the international front, Pakistan’s senior women’s team will tour Ireland for a three-match T20I series (6–10 August 2025), before hosting South Africa for three ODIs in Lahore on 16, 19, and 22 September.

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025

These matches will form part of Pakistan’s build-up to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, hosted jointly by Sri Lanka and India from 2 October to 2 November. Pakistan will play seven league matches and could reach the semi-finals and final in Colombo.

In early 2026, Pakistan will travel to South Africa (7 February – 2 March) for three ODIs and three T20Is as part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025–29. This will be followed by a home series against Zimbabwe (24 April – 11 May). In preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England (12 June – 5 July), Pakistan will also participate in a tri-nation T20I series in Ireland alongside the hosts and West Indies.

Strategic step

Domestically, Karachi will host the National Women’s One-Day Tournament (6–24 November 2025) and the National Women’s T20 Tournament (24 March – 17 April 2026). An Inter-University Tournament, under the Higher Education Commission, is also set for October 2025.

Rafia Haider, PCB’s Head of Women’s Cricket, described the calendar as a strategic step towards providing consistent playing opportunities across all levels. She emphasised the importance of youth development through the U19 pathway and hinted at the introduction of a departmental tournament to further strengthen the domestic structure.

“Our calendar is designed to fully prepare players for global events while offering strong developmental and domestic platforms,” she stated.
