AMMAN: Palestine on Thursday received a financial instalment from Saudi Arabia worth $30 million as part of the Kingdom’s continued support for the State of Palestine for 2025.
The instalment was handed over to Palestine’s Minister of Finance Omar Al-Bitar by Acting Saudi Chargé d’Affaires Mohammed bin Hassan Mounis, at the Saudi Embassy in Amman, Jordan, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Minister Al-Bitar expressed his gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s continued financial and political backing, emphasising the importance of this contribution in easing the severe financial challenges currently faced by Palestine due to recent Israeli measures.
He also extended sincere appreciation for the Kingdom’s steadfast support of the Palestinian cause, including its consistent advocacy for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
He conveyed the greetings of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their enduring political, economic, and humanitarian support.
Mohammed bin Hassan Mounis said that this financial instalment reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian government and enabling it to meet its financial obligations.
He underscored the significance of this assistance in strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people and alleviating their economic and humanitarian challenges.
Mounis also added that Saudi Arabia has provided approximately $5.3 billion in recent years in humanitarian, relief, and development aid as part of its broader support for the State of Palestine.
He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to defending the rights of the Palestinian people and supporting their just cause.
