JERUSALEM, Palestine: Israel’s military said on Tuesday it was “still early” to assess the damage caused to Iran’s nuclear sites, a day after a ceasefire ended 12 days of war between the longtime foes, according to AFP.
“Delayed it by several years”
“It is still early to assess the results of the operation,” Israeli military spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin said in a televised press conference, after US intelligence services reportedly concluded that American strikes set back the Iranian nuclear programme by several months.

“I believe we have delivered a significant hit to the nuclear programme, and I can also say that we have delayed it by several years,” said Defrin, AFP reported.
“All nuclear facilities destroyed”
Meanwhile, the US President Donald Trump, earlier posted regarding the Iranian nuclear facilities, “Both Israel and Iran wanted to stop the War, equally! It was my great honor to Destroy All Nuclear facilities & capability, and then, STOP THE WAR!”
“Obliterated Iran’s ability to create nuclear weapons”
According to ABC News, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wrote in a statement: “Based on everything we have seen — and I’ve seen it all — our bombing campaign obliterated Iran’s ability to create nuclear weapons.”
US President Donald Trump posted an interview of US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff on Truth Social on the issue.
Witkoff argues, “We put 12 bunker buster bombs on Fordow. There’s no doubt that it breached the canopy…and there’s no doubt that it was OBLITERATED.”
“Completely preposterous”
He adds, “So, the reporting out there that in some way suggests that we did not achieve the objective is just completely preposterous!”
Trump also posted: FAKE NEWS CNN, TOGETHER WITH THE FAILING NEW YORK TIMES, HAVE TEAMED UP IN AN ATTEMPT TO DEMEAN ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MILITARY STRIKES IN HISTORY.”
He added: “THE NUCLEAR SITES IN IRAN ARE COMPLETELY DESTROYED! BOTH THE TIMES AND CNN ARE GETTING SLAMMED BY THE PUBLIC!”
