Pakistan Prime Minister Strongly Condemns Israeli Airstrikes on Iran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli airstrikes on Iran carried out on Friday.

In a post shared on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Sharif stated: “I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, today’s unprovoked attack on Iran by Israel. I convey my deepest sympathies to the Iranian people on the loss of lives in this attack. This grave and highly irresponsible act is deeply alarming and risks further de-stabilising an already volatile region.”

He further urged the international community and the United Nations to take urgent measures to prevent any further escalation that could endanger regional and global peace, as expressed in his post on X.

“Unjustified and illegitimate”

Earlier, Pakistan had also condemned what it termed the unjustified and illegitimate aggression by Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has set up a 24/7 Crisis Management Unit (CMU) to safeguard Pakistani nationals and Zaireen in Iran.

“In order to ensure safety & security of our nationals/ Zaireens in Iran, we have activated a 24/7 Crisis Management Unit (CMU) at Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he wrote on X. “Pakistan Embassy in Tehran has also been directed to provide all facilitation to community members/ Zaireen. The Embassy’s hotline number is: (0098)-2166941388”, Dar concluded.
