Turkey Reaffirms Resolute Support to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to expedite the implementation of key decisions made during recent meetings between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier this year.

The agreement was reached during a phone call between the two leaders on Sunday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasised that accelerating the implementation process would enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in the areas of trade and investment.

During the call, he also extended warm greetings and best wishes to President Erdogan and the brotherly people of Turkey on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha.

While recalling their recent meetings in Istanbul and Lachin, the Prime Minister thanked President Erdogan once again for Turkey’s strong and unwavering support to Pakistan during the recent Pakistan-India crisis. He said this gesture has won the hearts of the people of Pakistan and added another glorious chapter to the history of Pakistan-Turkey brotherhood.

Both leaders reaffirmed their unwavering support for each other on matters of core national interest. They also exchanged views on key regional and global developments, including the ongoing situation in Gaza.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his Eid-al-Adha greetings and extended his own warm wishes to the people of Pakistan. He also reiterated Turkey’s steadfast support for Pakistan on all major issues.
