DOHA: Qatar and Jordan have strongly condemned the bombing of the Hamad Hospital for Prosthetic Limbs by Israel in the Gaza Strip on Monday, terming it a sheer violation of international and humanitarian laws.
The Hamad Hospital for Prosthetic Limbs, located in northern Gaza, was established in 2019 under the directive of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the father of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim.
It remains one of the few operational medical centres in Gaza, providing essential rehabilitation services, including care for hearing, balance, and prosthetic needs.
Qatar Foreign Ministry, in a statement, while condemning the Israeli bombing of the hospital, said that the continued brutal aggression by the occupation of the Gaza Strip, including its repeated targeting of civilians, hospitals, displacement centres, and vital facilities, is part of the war of genocide against the brotherly Palestinian people.

It called upon the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities to end this brutal war immediately and address the catastrophic humanitarian conditions it has caused.
The Ministry reiterated Qatar’s firm and permanent position in support of the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Meanwhile Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, in a statement, condemned in the strongest terms Israel’s bombing of the Hamad Hospital for Prosthetic Limbs in the Gaza Strip, calling it a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and a blatant violation of the Geneva Convention relative to the protection of civilians in war.

Sufian Qudah also denounced the Israeli use of starvation and blockade to displace Palestinians. He said that Israeli human rights violations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank threaten regional security and stability.
He also warned of the consequences of Israel’s ongoing violations in Gaza and the West Bank, and their repercussions for the security and stability of the region.
On Sunday, Israel launched large-scale military operations in the Gaza Strip with the objective of occupying the territory.
Over the past week, several hospitals in the enclave came under attack, including the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, one of the largest partially functioning medical facilities. In southern Gaza, the Gaza European Hospital in Khan Yunis and the Kuwait Specialised Hospital in Rafah were also impacted.
