ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar today received a call from the UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy.

Both leaders discussed latest developments in the region. Foreign Secretary Lammy appreciated Pakistan’s efforts towards maintaining regional peace.

Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination on areas of mutual interest.

This high-level diplomatic engagement comes in the wake of a significant escalation between India and Pakistan. In late April, an attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians.

Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos

India accused Pakistan and launched missile and drone strikes. Pakistan responded with Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, targeting Indian military installations.

Amidst mounting international concern, the United States brokered a ceasefire. Pakistan has consistently advocated for peace and regional stability.

The recent conversation between Senator Dar and Secretary Lammy underscores the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination on mutual interests, aiming to foster long-term peace and stability in the region.
