With just two points from six games and a solitary win to their name, the Sultans are teetering on the edge of elimination and must win tonight to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Standing in their way are the confident Quetta Gladiators, currently third on the points table with six points from five matches, eager to tighten their grip on a top-four spot. As the pressure mounts and the stakes soar, fans can expect a gripping encounter under the Lahore lights.
What Must Multan Sultans Do to Stay Alive in PSL 10
For the Multan Sultans, the path to the PSL 10 playoffs is steep but not impossible. Winning all their remaining four matches would take them to 10 points — a total that has historically been enough to qualify.
In fact, 10 points secured playoff spots in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2023. Even in 2024, an abandoned match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators allowed both teams to qualify with 11 points, though the loser of that match — had it been played — would still have likely made the cut with 10.
But there’s a catch: 10 points is no guarantee. In 2020, the Lahore Qalandars were heartbreakingly edged out despite finishing fifth with 10. So while 10 offers a strong chance, it doesn’t promise a seat at the table.
Should Multan drop even a single game, the situation grows murkier. Teams have scraped into the top four with nine points (like Peshawar Zalmi in 2020) and even eight (like Islamabad United in 2022). But relying on such narrow margins is a dangerous gamble.
