BAMAKO: Officials said on Friday that two police officers including a woman working with United Nations (UN) MINUSMA mission were killed and four others injured in Timbuktu area of Mali.

MINUSMA mission in Mali confirmed the incident and issued a statement via tweeter in this regard. It said that the incident happened when a UN police patrol party was attacked on Friday. It strongly condemned the attack and said that one injured was in critical condition and shifted to hospital.

Mali has been facing the issue of insurgency since 2012 as thousands of people have been killed while hundreds of thousands have left their homes.
