JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s cabinet on Tuesday strongly condemned the continued criminal and deliberate attacks by the Houthi militia on civilian targets in the Kingdom, reaffirming Riyadh’s right to defend its sovereignty, citizens, residents, and vital interests.
Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman chaired the Cabinet session held in Jeddah, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen (Coalition Forces), Major General Turki Al-Malki, earlier said that terrorist Houthi militia attacks on the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif injured 13 civilians while damaging seven houses and two vehicles.
In a statement, he said the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition will deal with these attacks responsibly and firmly to protect the sovereignty of the Kingdom, civilian objects, and civilians from these heinous attacks, in accordance with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, the principle of self-defence, and customary international humanitarian law.

“The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition will also take all necessary operational measures to deter this terrorist militia and confront its hostile and extremist approach,” the statement said.
At the outset of the session, the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet about his phone call with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, as well as the outcomes of his meeting with the Commander of the US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, which included discussions on the latest developments in the region.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said the Cabinet reviewed regional and international developments and Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to consolidate peace and security through dialogue and cooperation with the international community to address shared global challenges.
Saudi Arabia’s participation in 18th BRICS Summit reviewed
The Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of Saudi Arabia’s participation as an invited country in the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening engagement with countries around the world across areas of mutual interest and cooperation.
The participation underscored Saudi Arabia’s efforts to promote development, stability, and prosperity, while supporting the ability of international organisations to effectively fulfill their responsibilities.
The Cabinet also highlighted the Kingdom’s statement delivered during the 70th Regular Session of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference, which reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s position as a reliable global energy supplier and an active partner in maintaining the stability of international energy markets.
The statement also emphasised the Kingdom’s efforts to develop a more diversified and sustainable national energy mix, including nuclear energy, within a strong and comprehensive regulatory framework.
The Minister further noted that the Cabinet welcomed participants to the Fourth UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI), currently being hosted by the Kingdom.
The forum reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to advance multilateral dialogue on emerging technologies and its commitment to promoting the responsible and ethical development and use of AI, safeguarding human values, and contributing to an inclusive and sustainable digital future.
