SRINAGAR: All Parties Hurriyat Conference has asked Kashmiris to observe October 27 as a Black Day to convey a strong message to the world that they dismissed India’s illegal military occupation of their homeland.
APHC General Secretary Moulvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani in a message from jail called for observance of the day.
He proposed a sustained dialogue involving all stakeholders to resolve the long-standing dispute in Kashmir.
On October 27, 1947, India in violation of the Partition Plan and against the aspirations of the Kashmiris, landed its troops in Jammu and Kashmir, marking the beginning of New Delhi’s brutal occupation of the territory.
Meanwhile, top leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference met at Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s Srinagar residence for the first time since India revoked Article 370 in August 2019. Attendees included Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Masroor Abbas Ansari, and Bilal Ghani Lone.
It is pertinent to mention that Indian forces have intensified their crackdown in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), arresting over 150 innocent Kashmiris in Ganderbal district alone.
The forces’ personnel confiscated valuables, including laptops, mobile phones, and documents. This large-scale arrest is part of the Modi regime’s continent policy of suppression in the territory.
