LONDON: Concerns about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship have surfaced as reports suggest the couple, who have been married for six years, may be drifting apart.
The speculation was fueled by recent commentary from Nathan Kay, Weekend Editor of Express UK, who highlighted the growing distance between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
In his piece for Express UK, Kay noted that Prince Harry’s independent activities in recent weeks have sparked questions about the state of the couple’s relationship.
While Meghan Markle remains at their home in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, Prince Harry has been seen embarking on solo ventures, including spending time in the Montecito mountains with friends, away from his family.
The Duke’s decision to celebrate his 40th birthday without his wife and children has added to the concern. According to sources close to the couple, their friends have expressed worries about how much time the pair is spending apart.
“Harry’s independent itinerary has become a pattern over the last several weeks, leaving Meghan at home,” Kay wrote. “This continued distance between them is prompting speculation that the couple may indeed be drifting apart.”
Kay suggested that Harry may be seeking personal space or attempting to rediscover himself outside of the public scrutiny and high expectations placed on the couple. However, he acknowledged that the timing of Harry’s solo outings has raised eyebrows.
