BEIRUT: Palestinian group Hamas has said an Israeli strike killed one of its top commanders in a refugee camp in north Lebanon Saturday, the first time the area had been hit since the start of war in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the group said, “Commander” Saeed Attallah Ali, his wife and two daughters were killed in “Zionist bombardment” of his home in the Beddawi camp. Israel has repeatedly targeted Hamas leaders in Lebanon since October 7. Hamas has confirmed the deaths of at least 18 of its men in Lebanon since then.
