ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday strongly denounced a terrorist attack in Kalat killing Levies and police personnel and reiterated the nation’s undeterred resolve to wipe out terrorism. Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief over the martyrdom of the security personnel and prayed for the martyred as well as the recovery of the wounded, a PM Office statement said on Monday.
The PM also prayed for strength to the bereaved families to bear the loss and issued directives to the authorities concerned to extend the best possible treatment to the wounded. Prime Minister Shehbaz also directed an immediate investigation to take the perpetrators of the attack to justice.
The PM said the nation would never forget the sacrifices of the security forces and police. He said that such cowardly terrorist attack could not undermine the nation’s morale.
The PM said that the nation stood by the security forces in the war against terrorism and that the terrorists’ nefarious and evil designs to mar the nation’s peace would never succeed.
Security forces responded swiftly to the last night’s attack wherein terrorists carried out cowardly attacks at several places in Balochistan, and killed 12 terrorists, local media reported on Monday.
According to local media, security forces and law enforcement agencies are responding effectively to the terrorist attacks and so far, 12 terrorists have been killed, and many have been wounded. The local media cited security sources as saying that the operation of the forces will continue until the terrorists are eliminated.
Earlier, Police officials said that terrorists stopped passenger buses and killed 22 people in the firing incident in Radashim of Musa Khel area of Balochistan, local media reported. A top police official told a local news channel that the firing incident took place at highway near Musa Khel area of Balochistan.
Reports said that a heavy contingent of Levies and police rushed to the spot after the incident. Local officials said that the dead bodies of the passengers have been shifted to the hospital. Police said that they have started investigation after the firing incident.
