SEOUL, South Korea: The leaders of South Korea, Japan, and United States issued a joint statement on Sunday, marking the anniversary of their Camp David summit.

They reaffirmed their commitment to tackle regional challenges together. The statement, released by South Korea’s presidential office, emphasized that the principles established at the summit continue to guide the trilateral cooperation among the three nations.

The leaders—South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, U.S. President Joe Biden, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida—pledged to consult on issues affecting their collective security, including the rising power of China and threats from North Korea.

While South Korean media reported that the leaders plan to meet again this year, the timing remains uncertain, particularly as Kishida has announced his intention to step down.
