Creating Ethnic and Sectarian Divides
According to western media stage-managed attacks are used to create ethnic and sectarian divides within the region, thereby weakening the unity of the Kashmiri freedom movement and justifying further military interventions. By portraying itself as a victim of cross-border terrorism, India aims to gain sympathy and support from the international community, which can translate into diplomatic leverage against Pakistan, the experts remarked.
Economic and Demographic Control
Staged incidents help India in implementing policies that lead to demographic changes and economic strangulation of the local population, furthering India’s control over the region.
