ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Tehran to attend swearing in ceremony of newly elected Iranian President. This was stated by spokesperson Foreign Office in her weekly briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.
She said that during the visit of Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, both sides discussed means and ways to expedite Tapi Projects. She said Pakistan welcomes Beijing’s declaration on Palestine and urged world to play its role in stopping bloodshed of innocent Palestinian people.
When asked regarding the recent statement made by US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu, she reiterated Islamabad’s stance that it does not believe in zero sum relationships. The spokesperson emphasized that Islamabad considers its ties with Washington and Beijing important.
She said China is an all-weather strategic cooperative partner and they (Pakistan) will continue to strengthen the relationship. Baloch said they value their relationship with Washington and believe in constructive engagement. She said, “We would like to develop the relations on the basis of sovereign equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs”.
Replying to another question, she said that Al-Qaeda operative Amin ul Haq was apprehended by our law enforcement agencies in March this year while crossing into Pakistan from Afghanistan unlawfully. She said, “We conveyed this information to the UN”.
Baloch called on world to take note of human rights abuses by New Delhi in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to bring an end to the suppression of the people of Kashmir. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch further said that Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi will lead the Pakistan delegation at the 31st ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting, being held on Saturday in Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
