KARACHI: The 100-Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with a bullish trend on Thursday while gaining 49.13 points with a positive change of 0.06 percent closing at 80,282.80 points against 80,233.67 points the last working day.
During the trade, the 100 index touched the all-time high of PSX reaching 80,888.86 points, while the market closed at 80,134.89 points with a positive note.
A total of 496,782,184 shares were entertained during the day, with the price of shares standing at Rs 19.328 billion.
In total, 446 companies traded their shares in the stock market, 188 of them registered gains, and 194 met losses, whereas the share price of 64 companies remained unchanged.
On Wednesday, the PSX continued with its bullish trend run as the benchmark KSE-100 index settled above the 80,000 level for the first time in history after an increase of 680.79 points or 0.86%.
During the last six to seven months, the 100-index oscillated both ways, with a major bullish run particularly in May 2024 resulting in a number of records on high, by getting about 60% in the last 8 months including the last one.
Earlier, the market achieved the historic 66000 mark in December 2023, followed by some bearish trend. In March 2024, however, the market bounced back to surpass the 67000 mark followed by the 70000 mark in early April.
