ISLAMABAD: Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) leader Awn Chaudhry on Tuesday accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of engaging public relations (PR) firms to disseminate ‘propaganda’ against Pakistan and its institutions, alleging that the party posed a significant threat to the nation.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Chaudhry asserted that PR firms had been activated to spread misinformation detrimental to Pakistan’s interests.
His remarks come a day after the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention report stated that Imran Khan’s detention is arbitrary, and is “without legal basis” and “politically motivated.”
He accused PTI of conspiring against Pakistan, specifically pointing to Zulfi Bukhari for allegedly lobbying against Pakistan to international bodies since 2016.
The IPP leader vehemently condemned what he described as a deliberate campaign to destabilize Pakistan and undermine its armed forces. He questioned the funding sources behind these activities, claiming knowledge of the entire financial trail.
Chaudhry emphasized the urgency of protecting national interests and unity, urging those involved in such activities to return to Pakistan and engage in constructive dialogue to resolve these issues.
