LONDON: Amid her ongoing cancer treatment, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has been bestowed with a new honor at Buckingham Palace, where a special exhibition titled “Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography” has opened its doors.

The exhibition, at the King’s Gallery within Buckingham Palace, showcases a portrait of Kate Middleton captured by photographer Paolo Roversi. Originally unveiled in anticipation of the royal’s 40th birthday in 2022, the portrait stands as a symbol of Middleton’s grace and resilience during a challenging period.

Prince William and Kate shared the portrait with the public, expressing their delight at its inclusion in the exhibition. The accompanying caption stated that this portrait, along with two others, would become permanent fixtures in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London, an institution of which the Duchess of Cambridge serves as Patron.

Among the treasures on display are never-before-seen portraits of the Royal Family, including a young Prince Charles and Princess Anne, captured by the future Lord Snowdon.

“Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography” presents a comprehensive journey through more than 150 items sourced from the Royal Collection and Royal Archives. From the glamour of the 1920s to the modern era, the exhibition offers a rich tapestry of images that chronicle the royal lineage and its enduring legacy.
