BEIJING: Russian President Vladimir Putin will make a two-day official trip to Beijing this week, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday. It added that President Putin will hold a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his trip starting on Thursday.
The Kremlin confirmed the visit and stated that President Putin was going to China on President Xi’s invitation. The statement added that this will be Putin’s first foreign visit since he was sworn in as president and began his 5th term in office.
China has backed Moscow’s claim that Putin launched his strike on Ukraine in 2022 because of Western provocations.
