Crow defended the gifts as hospitality extended to a dear friend, denying any discussions about pending cases with Thomas.
Despite past controversies, including allegations of sexual harassment during his confirmation process in 1991, Thomas has remained influential on the court. He notably joined the majority in overturning the national right to abortion and advocated for a broader reconsideration of the court’s rulings on contraception and same-sex marriage.
