LONDON: Palestinian civil defense teams have discovered a mass grave containing 190 bodies at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis city of Gaza, the Arab media reported on Sunday.
According to the civil defense department, the deceased were victims of an Israeli attack on the medical facility.
A spokesman for the department, Mahmud Bassal, said that some of those killed had been tortured.
He told the media that some bodies were without clothes, which certainly indicates the deceased faced torture and abuse.
The Search operation is ongoing, with officials saying a significant number of victims are still buried at the site.
The department estimates that around 700 individuals have been killed and buried in mass graves within the medical complex since the Gaza conflict started on October 7.
The discovery was made after the withdrawal of Israeli military forces from Khan Younis on April 7.
According to the health ministry in Gaza, the death toll in the besieged Palestinian territory on Sunday surpassed 34,097, with the majority of victims being women and children, as Israel continues its relentless bombardment campaign.
The health ministry reported that at least 48 Palestinians were killed in the past 24 hours alone, while 76,980 others have been injured since the start of the Israeli military campaign on October 7.
