ISLAMABAD: Finance Ministry said on Monday that Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had started a virtual engagement for the 9th review of the 7 billion US dollars loan programme.
The Finance Ministry said this following local media reported that the International Monetary Fund had asked Pakistan to cut its expenses.
IMF Says Flood Recovery Plan Crucial to Supporting Discussions
The Finance Ministry said that the government of Pakistan had shared fiscal data, including flood damages and related expenditures, with the international monetary organization, and a team from IMF is expected to travel to Islamabad soon.
