BEIRUT: The commander of the Kurdish-led force in Syria on Saturday said that the group has stopped operations against the militant Daesh group after the Turkiye strikes in Syria.

Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi said that after Turkish airstrikes on northern Syria, Turkiye is now preparing for a ground operation. He claimed that pro-Turkiye opposition forces are preparing to participate in the offensives.

Turkish Attacks Cause Damage to Infrastructure

The commander said that Turkish attacks have caused severe destruction to the infrastructure in the region.

Abdi said Turkey is taking benefit of the deadly November 13 blast in Istanbul that Turkiye accuses Kurdish groups of involvement in the bombing.

The commander’s remarks came shortly after the US military claimed that two rockets targeted US-led coalition forces in Shaddadeh in northern Syria.
