ISLAMABAD: International Day to Combat Islamophobia is being observed across the world including Pakistan today. The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has convened its 62nd plenary session in connection with Day. Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Munir Akram will speak during the session.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has underscored the necessity of presenting positive face of Islamic world, Radio Pakistan reported.
In her message on International Day to Combat Islamophobia, the Chief Minister said that Muslim nations should strive to end their internal disharmony and become a symbol of unity.
Maryam Nawaz appealed to the United Nations (UN), Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), and other international bodies to intensify their efforts against Islamophobia.
