MOSCOW: Russia on Thursday strongly rejected the Ukrainian claims of targeting Kyiv where critical energy infrastructure was attacked a day earlier. Instead, it accused the foreign and Ukrainian air defense missiles of causing damage.
Russia’s foreign ministry said in a statement that its forces did not carry a single attack in Kyiv.
Any damage was caused by the fall of missiles from Ukrainian and foreign air defense systems that are located in the residential areas of Kyiv. However, it acknowledged the heavy strikes on the Ukrainian military command and its linked energy centers.
Three people including a teenage girl were killed in the Ukrainian capital in air strikes on Wednesday. Swathes of Kyiv spent the night without power and water supplies after the attack.
