KYIV, Ukraine: A Russian missile attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine killed at least three people, including a child, and wounded 38 others, officials said.
A video released by Kyiv’s Interior Ministry shows rescue workers evacuating injured civilians from a burning high-rise building.
Three people were killed and 38 were injured, said Igor Klimenko, the Minister for the Interior.
He warned that the number could rise further as search and rescue operations continue into the evening.
Sergiy Lysak, governor of Ukraine’s central Dnipropetrovsk region in central Ukraine announced in a post that 10 children were among the injured.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is from the city, said the airstrike destroyed a nine-storey building.
In his evening speech, he expressed his sympathy with the victims.
Zelensky vowed to inflict losses on the Russian state in response. “They in the Kremlin must learn that terror does not go unpunished for them,” Ukrainian president added.
