ISLAMABAD: An accountability court has suspended the arrest warrants of Hussain Nawaz and Hasan Nawaz— sons of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif — in the Al-Azizia, Flagship and Avenfield cases, local media reported on Thursday.

The verdict was announced by accountability court judge Nasir Javed Rana in a decision he reserved earlier.  According to the verdict, the warrants have been suspended till March 14.  The arrest warrants of the brothers were issued 7 years ago when the accountability court has declared them absconders.

In today’s hearing, Hussian and Hassan were represented in the case by their lawyer Qazi Misbah, while NAB prosecutors Sardar Muzaffar, Sohail Arif and Usman Masood also appeared in the court.

The petition seeking suspension of the arrest warrants were filed as both brothers are making arrangements to return to Pakistan on 12th March.

Qazi Misbah, said that Hassan Nawaz and Hussian Nawaz were declared absconders in the case, while continuous warrants were issued against them. After the completion of arguments by both sides, the court had reserved its verdict on the petitions.
