ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has felicitated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as prime minister of Pakistan, local media reported on Tuesday.
According to PML-N, the two sides agreed on the significance of close bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two sides and for regional stability and peace.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif took oath as the 24th prime minister of Pakistan. Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi administered oath from Shehbaz Sharif. Shehbaz Sharif earlier served as prime minister of a PDM-led government from April 2022 to August 2023 before the national assembly was dissolved to hold general polls in February.
