Corps Commander Peshawar Meets Tribal Elders, Discuss Development in the Region

PESHAWAR: Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hassan Azhar Hayat on Wednesday met with tribal elders of the Uthmanzai tribe of the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The tribal elders, expressing their unwavering commitment to the Pakistani army, lauded the sacrifices made by security forces in the fight against terrorism and in achieving peace in the region.

During the discussion with the tribal elders, the Corps Commander stated that the Pakistani army is utilizing all available resources for the welfare and prosperity of the people in tribal areas. He emphasized that the Pakistan Army, in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, is taking concrete steps to ensure the gradual return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from tribes to their respective areas. This includes development in mining and other sectors, as well as improving education facilities for youth representation.

The Corps Commander expressed gratitude for the tribal people’s steadfastness alongside the Pakistani army in the fight against terrorism.

In response, the tribal elders pledged continued cooperation with the Pakistani army and other law enforcement agencies for the stability and security of the country.
